The Ride of the Four Horsemen

First one horse….then two…
Three horses …Then four
The world has been changed
Forever more.
God’s kingdom stood ready
For so many years
It’s king poised for battle
Till the time had drawn near
God gave the command
For the charge to begin
The dragon…..his angels
They would not win
So down to the earth
These ones were thrown
Forcing all of mankind
To sigh and to grown
Leading this charge
Was Jesus’ first act as king
And As for the future
What would that bring?
The king on his White horse
Would be followed by
The fiery red horse has
Yes, Warfare ….oh my
The world would experience
A war like no other
This “war to end wars”
Would take fathers and brothers
Following close on the heals
Of the fiery steed
Was a horse…black as midnight
Terrifying indeed
The rider carries
A large pair of scales
What Signs do we see
As this system fails?
Plagues and Pestilences
Would be followed by
Great food shortages
Then economic strife
Mankind in turmoil
And Troubles abound
Hunger and pain
The whole world around
The sickly pale horse
It’s rider called “death”
The grave gathering those
Who drew their last breath.
Each day we are faced
With oh so much fear
For soon we might lose
Someone we hold dear.
Just when it seems
That all hope is gone
The clouds open up
And Our king charges on.
Following him
On his great white steed
One hundred forty four thousand
Anointed “king-priests”
We mustn’t forget that
Accompanying them
Are myriads of angels
Who’ll fight to the end
They are all poised for battle
Our God to defend
Truly “a war to end wars”
