Whose Leadership Can You Trust?

Leaders of today
Known by many names
And yet the verdict
Remains the same
Human leadership
Consistently fails
The reason for this
The Bible foretells
It does not belong
To men who are walking
To govern themselves
Or to do the talking
The book of Daniel
Said there would come
A kingdom to last
Ruled by God’s son
Jehovah formed us
To need direction
And to receive
His loving correction
He put into place
Someone that he trusts
To care for our needs
As we will discuss
A loving shepherd
Looks after his sheep
In step with that shepherd
These ones always keep
Feeding the sheep
He always provides
Distributing food
Yes… far and wide
He fed the thousands
With a few little fish
Providing enough
To fill every wish
Healing the sick
The deaf and the blind
Even though tired
Jesus didn’t mind
Instruction given
To those left behind
So that the preaching
Would not subside
Faithful and discreet
The slave provides food
At just the right time
So it can be chewed
When the master returns
And that time will come
May he lovingly say
A good job you have done
Do we show support
To Jehovah’s king
Knowing that this choice
Is the greatest thing
Our dedication
Tells him that we do
And that we’ll follow him
Our whole life through
No human leader
Can fulfill promises
But we know we can trust
All that our king says
