Elders’ Wives

Being An Elder’s Wife
Is A privilege from God
It is not always easy
And You might think that odd

Perhaps you will see
By the time that I’m through
What she might need
And what you can do

When you look at her
You see a pillar of faith
Firm in the truth
Walking in God’s ways

She loves Jehovah
No doubt about that
For her husband to serve
Respect she must have

As he shepherds the flock
She gives her support
Making great sacrifices
In behalf of her Lord

An elder gives of himself
In behalf of the brothers
Helping when needed
To take care of others

She helps where she can
But spends much time alone
While her husband is busy
His assignments unknown

He uses Discretion
When helping the friends
Things confidential
Clear to the end

His wife must learn
To get used to that
Before he was appointed
No secrets were had

The sisters support
Allows brothers to do
All the work that is needed
To help me and you

So The next time you see
The wives of these men
Let them know you love them
Now and again

For our brotherhood
And the love that we show
Means more to them
Than you’ll ever know

It will make all the work
And the great sacrifice
Worth the effort it takes
When we reach paradise
