You Will Not Be Abandoned

The day is coming
And it will be soon
With our God’s army
We must stay in tune

Christ Jesus is coming
To collect his brothers
Right now they’re on earth
Taking care of others

But soon they’ll be gathered
To their place in heaven
Preparing for battle
Jobs they’ve been given

We must not have fear
That we’ll be alone
Giving in to such fear
Someone might be prone

Weren’t there examples
Of those who stood firm
Till their mentors were gone
Then their attitude turned?

In ancient times past
Jehoash showed faith
When Jehoiadah died
He forsook good ways

The nation of Isreal
Suffered to the extreme
Under this wicked
Crushing regime

In The first century
The congregation
Was firm in the faith
Avoiding temptation

When the apostles
All passed away
Apostasy set in
From truth they did stray

Did God abandon
His faithful ones?
Had he thrown up his hands
And said he was done?

The apostasy
Had been prophesied
Corruption would enter
Christ had not lied

In these last days
We can be assured
For To prophesy
We can also refer

“No weapon formed
Against you has success”
God tells us that
His servants he’ll bless

“You will fear nothing”
“There’s no cause for terror”
The god of this system
Will answer for his error

Pure worship will be
Restored for all time
Jehovah preserved
The kingly line

With Jesus as king
Helped by the anointed
No greater leader
Could have been appointed

He’s training fine men
To take lead on the earth
While he tends to things
Involving the Kingdom’s birth

It’s true we may face
Some fearful things
We do not yet know what
Tribulation will bring

When Gog of Magog
Decides to attack
Christ and his army
Will fight right back

We’ll not need to fight
There is nothing we’ll lack
Those in the heavens
Will have our backs
