Let me tell you a story
The story of us
In the near future
When paradise comes
Oh the sights and the sounds
All the feelings we’ll share
And the wonderful smells
On the crisp morning air
Close your eyes as you listen
Without a care
And imagine yourself
Now being there
Looking around
The people you’ll see
You recognize them as
Your West Springfield family
We see Dan and Ellie
Walking down by the beach
As they look for someone
The Bible to teach
The wind in their hair
(Yes, Even Dan’s too)
The sand in their toes
The sky is so blue
Dave Copeland is out
Taking a walk
With his Great great great grandson
And the two of them talk
About the acorns and walnuts
Planted So long ago
That Are proof of our God
And the love that he shows.
Janet stallings has always
Really loved cats
In the past she would have
Two or three on her lap
But times have changed
She no longer does that
Now She’s curled up with
A tiger And taking a nap.
In the sun and the breeze
While strolling along
Can you Guess who we
Should now come upon
Barb Thornton is out
Painting her rocks
And watching the birds
And a lovely young fox
Off in the distance
A House is erected
So many friends
Have been resurrected
Hammers are pounding
The brick line is full
There’s Oliver , Kyle,
Austin and Matt
So many are working
It’s great to see that.
And As we watch on
Some kids wander by
And a little girl, Lainey
Stops to say hi
Can you play with us?
Please can you come?
Cindy Hoffman says “yes
That sounds like great fun”
Out in the Field
Some brothers play ball
Larry Tome is the ump
And just made the call
You can’t tell the difference
Between the men and the kids
For into home plate
Don Bohrer just slid
Ralph said to Dave Cunningham
Wouldn’t it be nice
To do some hand stands
In paradise
I’ve never done that before
Dave says “here’s your chance”
So Ralph takes a tumble
And then does a dance
Tonight there’s a party
Out under the stars
We will have visitors
From both near and far.
Ellis Hawkins is here
To visit his brother George
And share some of the stories
‘Bout the friendships he’s forged
The sisters are cooking
Of course….Phyllis too
So many are helping
Yes, more than a few
Hope Brad brings his cookies
I can just taste them now
It wouldn’t seem like a party
Without them somehow
Dan and Susan will bring
Bright Juicy tomatoes
To go with Marge’s bowl
Of warm mashed potatoes
Bananas Foster from Christy
(No it’s not named after her)
Sorry Doug…
There’s nothing we’re eating
That ever had fur
The food will be great
Nothing new about that
The difference is now
No one will get fat
Kerry tunes his guitar
Then plays a few bars
Mark Reffner will lead
Oh so happily
Then we’ll all join right in
Our hearts filled with glee
‘Cuz we know all the words
And we don’t sing off key
Do you Remember
When Laura would say
“We’re closer to paradise
By just one more day…”
Well We finally made it
And I have to say
It’s the best way to live,
To work and to play.
Time doesn’t allow me
To speak about all
Of the great friends we have
In this Kingdom Hall
Now you may think it’s over
That this group is through
Cuz we’re off to Girard,
Bula, Jefferson too
But Our story’s not over
That’s really not true
It’s only beginning
And I’m telling you
The fun we will have
The great things we’ll do
Serving Jehovah
Together with you.
