Facing The Fiery Furnace

Three Hebrew men
Courageous guys
Though young in years
Were still very wise
Standing before
An idol of Gold
Emotions built up
To levels untold
Wondering what
Would happen next
The outcome would be
Anyone’s guess
Trusting their God
To help them out
With Tremendous faith
They had no doubt
Whether God would
Save them or not
They would not give in
It’s what they were taught
The king commanded
All to bow down
Those ones who refused
Would be found out
A fire was waiting
As punishment
Those who wouldn’t bow
Would face his judgement
Shadrach, Meshak,
And Abednego
Feared their God more
They would not bow low
This angered the king
He told his strong men
Heat the fire seven times
Then throw them in
A strange thing happened
That was a surprise
His strong men were those
Who lost their lives
When into the furnace
The king next looked
The three Hebrew men
Had not been cooked
Another had joined them
An Angel of God
Sent from heaven
You may think that odd
Walking around
In the intense flames
They were not singed
All their hairs remained
Jehovah had seen
These men with their faith
Preserving their lives
His power displayed
What will you do
When you face the flames
Will you stand firm
For Jehovah’s name
Will you refuse
To ever bow down
To those rulers who
Are taunting him now
Soon Gog of Magog
Will turn on us
Touching God’s eye
We’ll be their focus
He’ll send his angels
To help us out
Giving us strength
Of this there’s no doubt
We must trust in him
To rescue us
From the flames of
That Fiery furnace
