The First Human Couple

The first man that ever
Walked on the earth
Did not have a mother
And did not have a birth
He was created
From the dust of the ground
You might think this fact
Is rather profound
It was in the year
4026 BCE
He took his first breath
And a soul came to be
God called him Adam
A word meaning “man”
Made in God’s image
By his own plan
The man would become
Caretaker of Earth
Naming the animals
And playing in dirt
His beautiful home
The Garden of Eden
Had so many trees
That were good for eating
Adam soon noticed
The Animals had mates
A male and a female
Each in its place
But Adam had no one
To share his life
So God decided
To make him a wife
Jehovah caused Adam
To fall fast asleep
Then took one of his ribs
Which his wife would keep
When Adam awoke
And opened his eyes
This beautiful female
Was quite the surprise
Adam was overjoyed
To him she belonged
Moved by emotion
He broke into song
“Bone of my bone
and flesh of my flesh”
His words direct
As his love he expressed
She would be called woman
From man she was made
With this act we see
God’s love was displayed
The woman created
In a beautiful form
Compliment of man
Uniquely adorned
That pair was perfect
In every way
Enjoying creation
Each and every day
The aroma of flowers
Drifted in the air
Succulent fruits
Plenty to share
Watching cubs play
With all of their brothers
Just a little way off
Lingered their mother
Warm afternoon breezes
The sun on their cheeks
This was time for Adam
With God to speak
The gold and the gems
In that garden aplenty
The beauty and wonders
There were so many
Fireflies dancing
In the moonlight
The sound of waterfalls
In the distant night
Relaxing and talking
Out under the stars
Discussing the future
And what they’d done so far
Their incredible home
Could’ve lasted forever
In tranquility
With beautiful weather
This was God’s plan
It was his endeavor
Just Peace and happiness
For mankind forever
